casio g-shock wins in 2012 retail design awards

G-Shock Central was among the select group of winners in the recent national RED awards, collecting awards in three categories in the personal apparel and lighting divisions.

The RED awards promote excellence in retail design and recognise the contribution of designers and shopfitters to the retail industry. The brief for G Shock Central was to create a concept store that met both the demands of Casio Japan and the New Zealand retail market.

Located in the redeveloping Fort Street, in the heart of Auckland’s CBD, the most challenging aspect was the space available - just 15sqm.  With this in mind, Designer Justin Roderique of Pennant & Triumph opted for a minimal urban design. The interior colours are contemporary – walls of grey
Muros Roughcast Concrete wall panels, a black ceiling and the use of light Band sawn oak fixtures to add warmth and contrast.

The result was a cross-cultural work embracing Japanese minimalism with New Zealand’s love of natural materials and muted tones.

Being lightweight and easy to cut, Muros Wall Panels were quickly installed by Dimension Shopfitters. Furthermore the thin Muros panels - with a depth ranging between 5mm and 18mm - were an added benefit saving valuable store space in the small environment.

Muros International congratulates Justin and the Pennant & Triumph team on their RED award and thanks them for choosing to work with Muros Wall Panels!

Muros stocks a wide range of high quality and easy-to-install wall paneling.
