polished finish for high end legal firm

As one of New Zealand’s oldest law firms, Wynn Williams was looking for their new satellite Auckland office to embody not only the legacy and history of their Christchurch founders, but an office that would clearly show their forward thinking and modern outlook.

Nestled in the upmarket business hub of Auckland’s CBD, the Shortland Street location proved to be the ideal choice for a well-respected professional services firm. The challenge was then to implement an office fit-out that would embody the long-standing reputation of the firm but within a more contemporary style.

Boutique interior design company, Yellow6, was engaged and asked to complete a fast-track office design and fit-out program, driven both by client and landlord requirements.

The result... Yellow6 designs challenge traditional mainstream trends, by looking to the future to create innovative and contemporary environments for largely commercial spaces. The office arrival space at Wynn Williams uses a combination of materials to convey this message.

Muros Grey Polished Concrete was selected as a key symmetrical feature in the reception area. The use of geometry and lines is intentional and draws the occupier’s eye further into the office space. The flexible light-weight panels were transported with ease to the 11th floor offices and provide the perfect backdrop to a well-recognised brand.

The ability to install signage with ease over the panels - achieved by drilling through panels to secure on the substrate behind - was a key consideration in selection of smooth polished concrete. Availability and speed of delivery from Muros International was also important.
