Concrete-look panels usually go up horizontally. It’s the familiar way to do it, and it works, grounding a room and drawing it wider. Turn the same panel vertical, though, and the effect changes. The eye travels upward, a low room starts to feel taller, and a flat wall becomes a deliberate architectural move.
