Few design choices deliver as much impact for as little effort as a well-placed beam. Change the size, the stain, the placement — and you transform the feeling of a room.

Muros Wooden Beams give you the look of beautifully aged timber without the weight, cost, or structural requirements. With over 40 size combinations and a neutral base that takes any paint or stain, our 3.4m Muros Wooden Beams are one of the most accessible and versatile retrofits available.

This edition showcases three very different spaces that prove exactly that. Each begins with the same Muros Wooden Beam and ends up somewhere completely unique.

Nelson, Marlborough — Urban Ranch
Designed by Tresson Interior Design

This Urban Ranch showhome in the heart of Richmond set out to blend history and modern living, and the ceiling beams are central to making that work.

Two sizes of Muros Wooden Beams were used throughout — 150 x 150 x 150 mm and the more substantial 250 x 200 x 250 mm — both supplied in neutral and stained to a light Oak to complement the surrounding fittings and furnishings. The effect is cohesive and warm, the kind of detail that reads as considered without dominating the room.

Eastbourne, Wellington — Rustic Glam
Designed by H&K Property

Some aesthetics are harder to achieve than they look. Rustic Glam is one of them, with a balance between grounded and polished, raw and refined.

This York Bay home gets it right. Muros Wooden Beams installed in the hallway and den bring authentic timber character to the space, anchoring the home’s rustic foundation without weighing it down. The result is warm and considered — a timeless way to introduce natural charm into a modern interior, without the cost or complexity of the real thing.

Arrowtown, Otago — Cellar Vibes
The Winery

This one is a little different. At The Winery in Arrowtown, Muros Wooden Beams were chosen to enhance the restored colonial building with its goldmine-era character. A modern material, crafted to honour an old‑world story.

Spanning the ceiling of the main tasting room, fireplace and den, the beams work in harmony with the original stonework, adding rustic depth without overwhelming the historic architecture. Large-format beams — 300 x 250 x 300 mm— were selected and stained in a deep walnut tone, giving the venue a rich, cellar-like ambience that feels both intimate and timeless.
